The Materials Characterization Service Unit (MCSU) maintains a comprehensive capability for characterizing both inorganic and soft materials using a variety of experimental techniques. One of the goals of this Service Unit is to maintain this comprehensive laboratory as a core facility for INIFTA researchers, extramural researchers from across the country, and regional industry users.
To this end, the MCSU offers a range of materials characterization instrumentation and services at a convenient location and affordable cost.
We provide services and technical training to research centers and industry in different areas such as interfaces, polymers and colloids, among others. Staff members expertly maintain each facility and are available to help users set up experiments or interpret their results. MCSU facilities include advanced physical, chemical and structural characterization techniques particularly dedicated to the study of materials.
In particular, we can provide unique solutions to challenging industrial problems through materials characterization.
