Jimena has a degree in chemistry (UNRC, 2008). She made her PhD in chemistry in the Advanced Materials Investigation and Development Laboratory (LIDMA, UNRC, 2008-2013) under the direction of Dr. César Barbero, where she worked on the synthesis and modification of Smart hydrogels. She made a postdoctoral stage in the Softmatter Laboratory (INIFTA, 2013-2017) during which she specialized under Dr. Omar Azzaroni direction in polymeric films with high added values potential applications, particularly in coordination polymers or Metal Organic Frameworks. Jimena is currently a CONICET Assistant Researcher in the Dr. Azzaroni´s Softmatter Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Matías Rafti.

Jimena currently work Project combines the synthesis of microporous materials (MOFs) along with its assembly on composite matrix for their final applications as delivery systems, specific adsorption/removal systems and smart sensors.
